Stark County RPC is involved in two locally administered tax abatement programs, assisting business and industry to locate or expand in the County. Under a contract with the Stark County Commissioners, RPC performs the monitoring function of the Enterprise Zone (EZ) and Community Reinvestment Area (CRA) programs. The programs allow the abatement of real property taxes when a company plans to invest in new or expanded facilities and commits to the retention or creation of new jobs. Agreements must meet State law and rules of the Ohio Development Services Agency (formerly known as the Department of Development). |
