Use the Analysis Layers option

Use the Analysis Layers option in ArcGIS Excalibur to determine the web services that are available to you in your content and your organization's content that you can use in the application. The Analysis Layers view displays information about each available web service and can be connected directly to the Search and Discover page or canvas.

Filter by layer title

The Analysis Layers page can be filtered by the layer title.

  1. Enter the name of a layer in the input text box.

As text is entered, the layer cards are dynamically filtered.

  2. Delete the text to clear the text box.

Sort by field

The web services can be sorted in ascending or descending order by fields such as date created, date modified, owner, or title to help identify layers.

  1. Choose a field from the Sort menu.

Options are Date Created, Date Modified, Owner, and Title. Date Modified is the default field.

The Analysis Layers list is dynamically sorted based on the chosen field.

  2. Click the Reverse List button in the Sort menu to switch between ascending and descending order.

Descending order is the default sort direction.

Filter by layer type

The Analysis Layers page can be filtered by layer type.

  1. Click the Filter button and select the specific layer types you want to view.

As filters are applied, the layer list populates with layer types that are selected in the filter.

  2. Click the same layer type again in the filter drop-down to remove it or click Clear All to remove all filters.

Change the layout view

The web services layout can be changed between two layouts: a list layout and a grid layout. Both layouts allow you to see information about the layer and connect directly to Search and Discover or to the canvas. The grid layout is the default view of the Analysis Layers page.

Refresh list

Click the Refresh List button to reload the Analysis Layers page. This displays the services that are available to you from your content or your organization's content.

Layer information

Each layer card displays the following information in the Analysis Layers list item details:

  • Name
  • Layer type
  • Owner
  • Date modified

When information on a layer's item details page is edited, the changes are reflected on the layer card the next time the list is refreshed.

Search and Discover

When you click Search on any ArcGIS Imagery Layer or ArcGIS Video Layer, the Search and Discover page appears, where you can search for, discover, and queue images or videos for further use. The search map will be zoomed to the extent of the service where you can define filters such as the area you want to search.
